State of WV Artist Financial Resources

The mission of the State Arts Office of the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture and History (WVDACH) and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts (WVCA) is to foster a fertile environment for the artistic, cultural, educational and economic development of the state. We believe active participation in and enjoyment of the arts are fundamental to sustaining quality community life by providing an abundant and creative environment for businesses to flourish throughout the state.

We envision a state where the arts are thriving and celebrated — where those vibrant communities that have made the arts vital to their way of life are inspiring their surrounding communities to do likewise. We envision a state where the arts are accessible to all and policy makers, stakeholders and the public fully recognize and enjoy the educational, economic and cultural impact of the arts, creative people and creative enterprise.

We have complied a google drive folder that offers all financial resources the state has for local artists!

Grants Offered

The Arts Council of Greater Morgantown (ACGM)’s 2023 Impact Grant Program for individual artists is now open. This program aims to give financial assistance to artists that have impactful projects within the creative community.

Funding for the 2023 Impact Grant Program was made possible by the Monongalia County Commission. The ACGM will award between $1,000 to $5,000, to projects that create a substantial economic impact on Greater Morgantown. There will be a second phase of the Impact Grant Program announced in July.

To be considered for an Impact grant, the ACGM is looking for creative individuals who are invested in expanding their artistic footprint by making meaningful contributions to the greater Morgantown area. The ACGM is interested in funding projects that introduce new, unique ideas to the community, shifting away from mural installations to focus more on interactive experiences.

Applications for phase one are open to the public now through March 15, 2023, at 11:59 p.m.
