First solar-powered farmers market lights up in Morgantown

"The City of Morgantown will soon host the state’s first solar-powered farmers market. The Mountain Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to education and sustainable development in mountain regions around the world. It’s donating a solar array to be constructed on the new Farmers Market Pavilion. The solar system is slated to be complete in March and will include an electric vehicle charging station."

Morgantown Marketplace Opens For Business

"In April construction began on a new home for Morgantown's Farmers Market. Years of hard work and planning came to fruition when the Morgantown Marketplace was officially opened as the market's new home on Saturday. The ribbon cutting was done by city officials, guests and dignitaries. A Monongalia County commissioner said the impact of the marketplace will reach beyond city-limits."
